Q1: What is the weight capacity per shelf or per bookcase?

A: This shelving unit will hold up to 60lbs of what is called book weight. This refers to typical books on a shelf that are evenly distributed. If you were to put the 60lbs all on the center of the shelf than that would cause a slight bend in the shelf over a period of time.
